ECF Game 4 Preview: Must Win For Detroit

After letting home-court advantage slip through their fingers Saturday night at the Palace, the Pistons will try to salvage a split at home and send the series back to Boston tied at two games a piece. The tip is at 8:30 on ESPN.

Here's five things to look for if you're a Pistons fan.

  1. Chauncey Billups to be more aggressive from the tip. Billups responded with a strong game two performance after being much maligned for the way he played in game one and I'd expect to see Smooth play much better than he did the other night.
  2. More Rodney Stuckey. Stuckey has been nothing short of sensational for the Pistons in this series and with his back-to-back unbelievable performances, I'd look for Flip to go to Stuckey early, especially if Billups' struggles continue.
  3. Look to see more of the trap that the Pistons ran for much of the second half against the Boston offense. The Celtics were confused and panicked when pressured and turned the ball over, leading to the Pistons comeback.
  4. Better shooting from Tayshaun Prince. I don't expect Tay to go 2-11 from the floor every night, regardless of how good a defender Paul Pierce is. Prince had a couple open looks the other night but they just didn't fall. Expect to see a Game 2-like performance from the Prince.
  5. A win. The Pistons always play better with their backs against the wall and tonight is no exception. The Pistons either win here, or they head back to Boston facing a must-win and having to win two games in Boston to get to the Finals. I expect strong performances from all of our guys, especially Sheed in a Pistons win.
