T-Mac vs. AK-47: Round 1: McGrady Can't Buy A Break

Sometimes, my heart just goes out to Tracy McGrady.

This was supposed to be the year. This was supposed to be McGrady's time to get out of the first round of the playoffs for the first time in his career.

Then Yao Ming went down.

Then Rafer Austin was lost for the first two games of the series in Houston.

Now he's down a game and lost home-court advantage.

Maybe it's not meant to be.

The Rockets lost 93-82 and were dominated by the Jazz for a majority of the game. The Jazz opened an early lead and knocked Houston onto their heels before Houston struck back in the third and took the lead.

Then the basketball gods looked down and smote Tracy McGrady.

Carlos Boozer scored six straight Utah points. Then Kyle Korver hit two 3-point baskets. Finally, Deron Williams sank the dagger in with a three ball with 9:29 to go to put the the Jazz up double digits.

McGrady went 7-21 from the floor for 20 points but went scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Someone please pray to the basketball gods for Tracy McGrady.
