Only the Phoenix Suns would let Tim Duncan shoot a wide open three for the tie. That's right, Tim Duncan.
Duncan got a wide open look for three and the tie at the end of the first overtime and he drained it. The Suns led the game by as much as 16 and in classic Phoenix fashion blew the lead and the game.
In the second overtime, after Brent Barry hit one of two at the line, Steve Nash hit a three falling away late and the Spurs decided to go without using a timeout.
Manu Ginobili had an isolation on Raja Ball and Bell only had to do one thing:
Don't give him the lane.
Yeah...about that.....
Ginobili blew by Bell and hit a bank shot while falling away with 1.8 seconds on the clock. A heave at the buzzer by Nash fell far short.
The Suns just cannot beat the Spurs. No matter what happens and how many breaks go their way, they just find a way to lose. They made the trade for Shaq to beat San Antonio and he put up a dismal 11 points and 5 rebounds.
The Big Cactus needs to get a little more prickly if the Suns want to win this series.
