CP3 vs. J Kidd: Round 1: Same Ol' Mavericks

A new year, a new point guard, the same old Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks blew a 12 point halftime lead and then some in a 104-92 loss at New Orleans.

Chris Paul took over in the second half and had 35 points and 10 assists to lead the charge. Once, again, however, it was Dallas who didn't have the testicular fortitude to get it done down the stretch. Dallas' heartless leader Dirk Nowitzki had 31 points and 10 assists but only scored four in the 4th quarter.

This is exactly why Dallas will never, ever win a title with this lineup. They have no heart.

They had no heart last year when they played Golden State and came out in Game one with a lineup to adjust to Golden State. They were a one seed. Act like it. This starts from the top down. Avery Johnson just doesn't get his team to believe. If you're adjusting lineups to a lower seed, it tells your team you don't have what it takes to get it done.

Nowitzki recently said that they didn't want to play the Lakers. Be a man. Take on all comers. Don't fear your opponent. Too bad Dirk has no heart and has the mental toughness of a gerbil. If they keep playing like this they will lose this series, and in four games.
