Well for those of you who live in Japan, or, like me, were up late studying and decided to watch the game, baseball kicked off their season at 6 a.m. eastern time. The Boston Red Sox and the Oakland Athletics began their season in a fashionable way- extra innings. When the game finally ended around 10 a.m., the Red Sox had escaped with a 6-5 win. The Sox trailed most of the game despite a brief lead in the 6th inning, but they tied it up in the 9th, and took the lead in the 10th for good. They escaped trouble in the bottom of the inning thanks to a base-running gaffe by Athletics left fielder Emil Brown, but a win is a win.
